I am sooooooo done!

Shovel goes up.......
then comes down!

No, I didn't save these pictures from last month. This is what it looks like outside our door this morning. It's just lovely! I told Trey that he needed to hurry and get bigger so he could shovel. The next thing I know he's telling me that he's already big enough and showing me the porch. I'm just so proud! I am officially ready for spring and done with the snow. Maybe I'll just move to Arizona. I'm still waiting to take pictures of everyone in their Easter outfits. Rachel and I didn't make it to church last week despite the fact that I was supposed to play the piano in Sacrament Meeting and I had Sharing Time in Primary, because I was puking my guts out. So Rachel didn't wear her dress last week and I didn't have the heart to make her wear a short sleeve dress with five inches of snow on the ground. I guess we'll just have to wait a little longer for Spring pictures since even though it's almost April, Mr Winter just doesn't want to go away!

True Colors

Take this test!
You're a bold, confident orange. A warm, powerful color that indicates a strong, welcoming personality, orange is the mark of people who are social and extroverted by nature. Vibrant, with an upbeat attitude, you have a bright, inviting demeanor. Energetic and fun-loving, you're a real friend-magnet. Your easy charm and unassuming manner make you the sort of person people want to meet and get to know better. Well-rounded and fun to be around, you enjoy helping others, so it's no surprise that orange also symbolizes attraction. Orange is an extraordinary color — for an extraordinary person.

Wow.....what a day!

After four and a half years of being the mom I have become accustomed to waking up in the morning to sounds of my children. In the last three months, I have accepted the fact that the time I wake up might be earlier, way earlier, than I would prefer. Today, however, was different. Rachel didn't wake up until 7:30, but I woke up to the phone ringing at 7:00 with the first of three phone calls saying they wouldn't be making it to church to teach their classes. My husband reassured me that everything would be fine because it always is just fine. It turned out to be a most wonderful day in Primary in which I was reminded that the Savior Jesus Christ is always near us and when we need Him the most He really does carry us. I am so thankful for the blessing of the restored gospel in my life and I know that I should share it more with those around me. I love having the opportunity to serve the children. They are so sweet and have a pure love of Jesus. I love the Prophet and I am thankful for his loving guidance and the truths that he teaches through his amazing stories. My life is better because I know where to turn when I need help and instruction. Words cannot express my love for Jesus Christ and his Atonement that allows me to repent. I hope that I can try harder each day to live my life more like I would if I could really see my Savior 'standing nigh watching over me' .

I Love Shoes.....especially ones for Baby Girls!

The day was Dec 31st when my sister in-law called and told me about a website that was having a $1 and $2/pair sale on baby shoes. I got right on that! I managed to limit myself to 20 pairs (a decision I regret now) and placed my order. As you can imagine they were extremely backlogged and my confirmation letter explained that my order wouldn't be processed until mid-February. No problem, I'm patient. When the 'Your package has shipped' email came, I faithfully tracked my package using FedEx tracker. Saturday February 16th my package was delivered. The only problem was that I didn't have a box on my porch. So where could they be? After several calls to FedEx, I was left with no answer. Everyone kept saying, "I'm really sorry for the inconvenience." This was beyond inconvenience people! Finally I was left with no choice but to fill out a claim for a lost package. Too bad the $60 I paid for those twenty pairs would only get me like three pairs in the real world and obviously at such an amazing price all the shoes were sold out. To say the least, I was way bummed. For over a week now I have obsessed over how a box large enough to hold that many shoes could just disappear! I kept asking LeRoy if I was overreacting and he patiently said, "Probably, but it's okay." I'm so glad he understands me. His patience paid off and today my prayers (literally) were answered and a nice young man came to my house with a package that had been delivered to him. I must have looked like a total fool! I just babbled all over myself, though I did resist the urge to cry. Now Rachel is totally sick of shoes after having tried on a half dozen pairs, but how cute she will be for at least the next four sizes! I should have ordered more! Thanks for listening to my babbling. There really are good people out there! For this, I am truly grateful!!
