I can do it!

Today started off in an interesting way. Kyler woke up at 7 which isn't horribly early for him, but he proceeded to wake up the other two kids who were not ready to wake up! LeRoy got them breakfast and I let them watch a show while I tried to get some more sleep having stayed up until almost two talking to my brother on the phone. I ended up just giving up and starting the day at eight. I was really worried it was gonna be bad, since I knew that LeRoy had a meeting tonight and then had to go to the church to do some finance stuff. Lucky for me the day was pretty okay. We've been pretty consistent with our little morning routine of unloading the dishwasher and reloading the breakfast dishes, then starting a load of laundry and getting ourselves dressed and ready for the day. So, that all got done which always makes me feel a little better about things. Since they woke up so early, Trey was ready for lunch at like 10:30. So, we cooked up some "potato chips" (sliced potatoes roasted in the oven) and corn dogs. I had thought about going to the library this morning only to remember it was Tuesday not Thursday, so there is no story time. Trey said he just wanted to go check out books, so we ended up going after school. They were great at the library. Actually, it was Rachel who did the most running off. Golly, that girl is fearless! I am hoping to go back for story time on Thursday and take at least some of the books back before having to pay late fees for the first time in too long. I call it my way of giving back to the Library system. We ran to the store and got asparagus before it went off sale. We came home and made dinner by 5 o'clock (again a result of kids having woken up early) and I didn't even have to really fight with Kyler. I just told him he had to eat three tiny bites off beef from our Yakisoba in order to get a cookie. He held off for a while, but finally caved. He ate his noodles, carrots, broccoli and peas. The boys helped me load the dinner dishes in and it would be running if I hadn't forgotten to get dishwasher soap. It turned out better since Tuesday is a bath night and our hot water tank isn't big enough for the dishwasher and bath tub at the same time. So they were all bathed and pajamaed by 7:00. Just in time to read a few new library books, watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, read scriptures, brush teeth and in bed all by 8:00. The coolest part about it: LeRoy still isn't home! Not that I don't want him to be, but I did all of this by myself! Ladies, I'm ready for another baby!! Oh, LeRoy just called and he's bringing home dishwasher soap and ice cream. Yippee! Man oh man, life is good!

What's a post without a sweet picture of my great family!!

Good for you! Doesn't that feel good to make a success out of day that looks like it's doomed to be a miserable one!

I totally needed to hear that since Joe is out of town (AGAIN) and I'm running low on energy.

Good on you babe! If there's one thing I've learned about being a Navy wife is that every military brat in the world needs to thank their mother. Being the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker, the bus driver, the chef and mom and dad is a tough job! Tell your mom thanks for me! And as for the other baby - the good news is girl's potty train earlier!
