Best Friends!

Wow, do I have the best friends ever!! All of you know, I'm not the tidiest gal on the block, but the clutter has been a little beyond normal lately. A dear friend stopped by today and volunteered to stay with the little two while I took Trey to school. Upon my return she informed me that she wasn't leaving until we did some good old fashioned Flylady (see flylady.net) crisis cleaning. Five hours later...after a few breaks and lots of putting away, we enjoyed a lovely dinner together. Thanks to the fact that both husbands were working late, we weren't feeling too guilty about spending the day together. Just minutes after she left, another sweet friend shows up with everything needed to clean the bathroom! Perfect timing, considering Kyler had pooped in the toilet I just cleaned today and I really didn't want to do it again. But even the worst chores in the house are more fun when you have somebody to do it with! So we cleaned the bathroom together and she ran along home to put her little girlies to bed. That left me at 9:00 on a Thursday night aka So You Think You Can Dance result show night! I hurried along to my geographically closest friend for a little SYTYCD and forced myself on her bathroom between commercials. I just couldn't end the night without paying forward all these wonderful things that happened to me today and boy do I feel good! So, a big thank you to all of you for serving me and allowing me to serve you! I thank my Heavenly Father for fellow Sisters in Zion. I am so completely blessed to have such wonderful people in my life!!

Aaaahhhhhhh.........I hope she's teething........

because if she isn't, then who knows when the crying will stop. Poor little girl just doesn't know where to find comfort. When I hold her she just claws me looking to nurse, but twice in an hour and a half is gonna leave this Mama with no more milk! Maybe I'll try giving her a bath to see if that helps any. It will be totally against the norm if she wakes up Kyler! Okay, here I go to try again.....I can do this. If I keep saying it, then it will happen, right?

Kyler, he's a quick one!

<= Kyler at the beach house

Tonight at the dinner table, Kyler is dinking around not wanting to eat his tortilla rambling on about things. He turns to LeRoy and asks, "Where's my seat?" LeRoy answered, "You're sitting in it?" where's my pee?" LeRoy shoots him a look. You see the boys have been using the poop and pee word lots lately and we are getting a little tired of it. Upon seeing Dad's look, Kyler quickly says, "Where's my peas? Peas in Grandma's garden." LeRoy and I about burst trying not to laugh. I am amazed every single day at how quick that little guy's brain works. I just keep coming back to the fact that I was so worried that because Trey was so smart, Kyler wouldn't be able to keep up and end up being labeled the dumb one. Yeah, I don't think we have to worry about that one!

Warning..........bodily functions discussed

This is where the boys and I slept last night, if you want to call what we did sleeping.

I've come to the conclusion over the last 24 hours that the only worse than puking is having to take care of crying puking kids while puking yourself. I should, however, be grateful that at least we all got it out of our systems at the same time. Mine started early yesterday morning followed by Trey and Kyler in the evening and LeRoy late last night. Last time we had this bug it lasted like a whole week with everyone taking a day here and there. The biggest bummer about it is that it had to happen on a Saturday when I had a whole list of things to get done while LeRoy was at home. I suppose that list will have to wait for another day. At least LeRoy has today to recover before having to go back to work tomorrow. Who gets the flu in the middle of the summer anyway? Isn't it a winter illness? Oh, well I'm just so glad it's only shown itself to be a 24 hour thing because there's been no puking for about eight hours now! Thanks goodness for small favors!

Summertime!

I have always been so glad to be blessed with kids that like to be outside! The only drawback is that I don't like them being out by themselves, so I have to be out in the hot with them. I really enjoy the afternoon when the sun starts to go back behind the house and we have some shade in the front. Yesterday, while Rachel was taking a nap, I attempted to revitalize my potted flowers and water the brown spots that the sprinkler system doesn't get. Of course in 90 degree weather the boys couldn't resist the urge to get in the way of the hose and after all was said and done they were both soaked to the bone. It was a fun day!

"I Wanna Rock and Roll All Night........"

For those of you who don't know, my dad was kind enough to get a Wii for Christmas. Lucky for me, it stays at their house so my kids don't want to play it all day long. My brother in law got my dad Guitar Hero for Father's day. Like the Wii, my likes it but not nearly as much as the boys. Kyler is going to be my rocker. He spent a good portion of the weekend in Bellingham with LeRoy singing the new songs he's learned. Today we were at my mom's and Kyler and LeRoy were playing together. Kyler gives it everything he's got and as you might be able to tell LeRoy's not very good. I've finally found a video game that I can beat him at! Hooray!

Kyler is at the lovely stage of thinking he doesn't need a nap. Unfortunately, he still does. It was about 7:00 or so when he just couldn't hold on anymore! It's gonna be a few more years before my little guy will really be able to 'rock and roll all night'! Thank goodness!!

Loser Kings!

Can you see it? Ha Ha Ha! It's been a week and I still think it's hilarious!

Hoopfest 2008

I suppose since it's been a whole week that I should probably post about Hoopfest. Things went pretty smoothly this year. Probably because I didn't do even half of what I normally do. Instead of cooking dinner for everyone Friday night, we went to the China Buffet here in town. That was fun! Saturday morning I had to do a check-in so I sent the boys with LeRoy and waited for the call to tell me whether they won or lost and when they played next. The call came that they lost (first time they lost the first game ever in 7 years) allowing me to wait until 2pm to head downtown. Unfortunately, it was warmer than if I would have gone for the morning game, but it was worth it. Now deep down inside I really wanted them to win the second game and lose the third (causing them to not play on Sunday) because I really needed a substitute for Primary the next day, but they ended up losing. This led to another first in our Hoopfest experience, the Consolation Bracket. For those of you who aren't familiar with 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament double elimination bracket set up, each team is guaranteed to play three games. So, if you lose twice you go to a four team Consolation bracket. If you win two consecutive games, you're the winner of this bracket and so deemed the King of the Losers and winners of a 13th (out of 16 teams) place t-shirt! Years ago, before political correctness became a factor, they called them the Loser Kings. Now they are allowed to call them that anymore. Okay, so I get a text message while sitting talking after church that they won their first Sunday game and they played again at 1:30. Of course it was like almost 1:00 at the time, so I go flying downtown. I didn't want to pay ten bucks to park for thirty minutes so I parked farther away and walked in shoes that had already given me blisters from 'running' around at church. I was glad I did though because they won! My husband is a Loser King. Something he's wanted to be for a few years now, but wasn't willing to intentionally lose just to live that dream. I wish I had the camera (LeRoy took it to Bellingham) to take a picture of the shirt. I don't want to describe it because it will lose the effect. But be excited for my favorite thing ever about Hoopfest, even better than the finalist t-shirt they got years back for being in the championship game. So, tomorrow when they get back I'll take a picture. Most of you probably won't read this before then anyways. Good grief, it's almost midnight! I better get to bed. Another exciting day of Primary tomorrow! It always makes me wish they would hurry up and get that cloning thing down. Ha Ha! Wow, I'm tired. Good night.
